Rachel describes the piece, "As I was new to this form of ink and wash painting, I searched for information and tips for technique. What I discovered, besides the years of practice necessary to fully become one with this style, is a medium centered around the soul of the object being painted. It's not just recreating the image, but recounting the unseen vibrancy or temperament of the object. Useless details are left out, and the essence of it remains. So this is my story...my soul."
