Day 17: 25 Days of Giveaways
Hello, everyone, this is the seventeenth day of giveaways. Thank you very much to Tina for hosting all these amazing giveaways. If you are not familiar with 25 Days of Giveaways, check out Tina's blog Living without Sophia and Ellie for a more in-depth description. Today is still life 365's turn. I am sorry this is so late in the day, but no worries, I will be keeping this post live and active for twenty-four hours, so you can get your comments. This giveaway is for two things.
One:I am giving away a mizuko jizo painting. Not any one, this one in particular.
This painting is 7"x10" and is watercolor on 140 lb. cold pressed paper.
Two: a copy of They Were Still Born, the book in which my essay Mothering Grief appears in. There are a ton of other amazing babylost writers in this collection of essays, including Janis, Virginia, Kara L.C. Jones, aka Mother Henna, Monica, and Joanne Cacciatore. It is edited by Janel Atlas. The collection itself is quite extraordinary. Kara writes a chapter on creativity and grief. Awesome. It is a collection about living after stillbirth and the ways in which loss affect us as mothers, fathers, grandparents and people.If you are interested in ordering it and leaving some feedback on Amazon or Barnes and Noble, you can do so from the following sources:

In other news about me personally, I am participating in a reading for They Were Still Born on January 9th, which is a Sunday, in Newark, Delaware, at the Free Library. I will be reading my essay Mothering Grief with Nina Bennett and Janel Atlas. I would love to meet you and see you there. Also, I am free to talk about this book, or art and grief, or this website, so invite me to your support group, or form a group of babylost mamas and papas for a day of creativity.
I am also participating in a workshop in Newark, Delaware, on January 22nd at the Newark Arts Alliance. There will be workshops on art, writing and grief. I believe the cost will be less than $20 for the day--3pm to 6pm, and I will be hosting a workshop. I will post more information, but please please please email me if you want more information and are in the area looking for some techniques to explore your grie creatively. This is not a workshop specifically for artists or writers, it is for people wanting to explore their grief in different ways, or as I like to say, give a new language to express their grief.
