about the piece
I joined a photo editing class in april of this year. I needed some pictures for the class and went to a 'Holy Well' near where I live. When taking photos of the lovely stream, trees and flowers in the area I noticed a tree with things hanging on it. People had left momentos of their loves one who had passed away. The ladybug caught my eye and I took some photos of it. It reminded me that another couple must have lost a baby too. Only when I got home and zoomed in on the photo did I discover the little white feather stuck onto the ladybug. I smiled and thought of Jamie as during this period I had unexpectedly found many white feathers in random places ... I believe he sent them to me to comfort me during this difficult time.-Janice

Your photo made me smile as soon as I saw it, which is a refreshing experience. I think it helps to have an image smiling back at you. I am so sorry Jamie only stayed 4 weeks with you before he had to learn to leave you white feathers.
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of a Holy Well, I see the white feather, the ladybug does look very happy with it, almost smug. I am sorry to hear that your Jamie passed away too. Do you have a blog?
ReplyDeleteYour photo made me smile as well.

Very sweet and I smiled too.
ReplyDeleteI also like the idea of the Holy Well, and the photo is very sad, but very sweet too- like a fond reminder.
