about the artist.
Amy lives in North Carolina with her husband and two greyhounds. Amy describes her journey, "Our only child Liam was born alive and apparently healthy on September 25, 2007, and was the joy of our lives. Our son Liam died soon after birth due to unexplained/unknown causes, shattering our world and our hearts. Art is an expression and release of my grief, and a way to honor the memory of our little man who is missed beyond words." Amy maintains a blog showcasing her Creative Everyday Challenge at Surviving the Day Every Day.

Wow, I really really love this. I have a thing about trees, they hold so much meaning. The photo is absolutely beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI love this photo also, especially the shadows on the ground.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
ReplyDeleteHubby and I tried to escape our grief by staying in a mountain house of a friend in December 2007. We went for a hike in the crisp December weather and saw this tree. It felt powerful, emotional, sad and strong so I took it's photo. Trees speak to me in a deeply emotional way too. I loved how the sun shone through the bare branches and how the shadows fell across the ground. It was not until now, nearly 3 years later, I altered the colors and turned the photo in the one above.
Simply amazing. What a beautiful photo. Thank you for sharing this, and your little Liam with us. I'm sorry he is gone. I'm sorry you don't have any answers. I love the name Liam. It's a good name.
