about this piece.
August's community poem tackled the outside eye. For many of us, grief feels like being on stage. For this poem, each contributor was asked to step out of themselves for a moment and think of a word that someone else might use to describe them. This was not a self-descriptive word, but a word that someone else would use.The exercise is about trying to exorcise the demons that voice criticisms about how each person grieves and acknowledging the new people we have become.
