Photo Sunday: The End.

The End.
Julie Cozens.

about the piece.
Solid footing ends,
my innocence ends.
Grieving takes over,
Like water, heavy.
Life continues on
And on, always on.

The next picture doesn't say anything about falling.

The End of the Road.
Sally.

about the piece.
This was as the sun was setting on New Year's Eve, 2008. The last day of the year she was born. The last day we were able to grieve in her birth and death year. The year that was the end of our innocence and naivety. It felt like the end of the road for us, as I was not sure how I could possibly keep putting one foot in front of the other in a brand new year. But it also felt like a new beginning, as we were desperate to to put the year behind us and try and move forward in to a new year that would hopefully include more happier times. And it did. -Sally

  1. these photos are so strong and speak so loudly, especially the last one. with the end of 2010 quickly approaching, i am both happy and sad to see it go.

  2. Angie, (comment above) I was also both happy and sad. Part of me wanted to run as far and as fast as I could to get away from 08, but another part of me wanted to stay sitting there, sobbing and rocking myself back and forth in her empty nursery. 2008 will forever be her year to me. I can't hear anyone even mention that year without my heart skipping a beat. I can't even believe it was "so long" ago now.
Time will do it's thing though, and drag you forward, whether you like it or not.
    Hold on for the ride.
Love all of these. Thanks, Angie.

  3. Oh shoot, I meant to get a submission in for this theme. Maybe I'll just send it for you to consider for another day.
I love everything that everyone else submitted. I've felt all those very same things - The end of innocense, ends of seasons, and yes... New Years Eve last year was a very solemn and reflective one on so many levels.
