Welcome to the still life 365 Day of the Dead blog circus! I am linking some of the amazing Day of the Dead how-tos from Mother Henna. Try your hand at some sugar skulls, or ATC work.
Kara also did a walk through of her Day of the Dead show at Cafe Luna on Vashon Island in Washington State. Enjoy some Day of the Dead art. She self-published a gorgeous book about the swap. Day of the Dead 2009 HeARTist Collection.
I just want to thank Kara for allowing me to use all these amazing resources to share on here.
Want to share some Day of the Dead thoughts, art or swap work? Link your name and blog below, and comment if you wish. Enjoy this blessed Samhain, Halloween, and the beginning of the Dia de los Muertos celebration!
Thank you for sharing your beautiful work! I wish we lived in a society where 'Day of the Dead' was more widely observed (instead of the typical North American Halloween.) To me, this day has a sacred feel to it. It's about so much more than costumes and candy.
Thank you for sharing. Love the artwork. It was our first time decorating sugar skulls. It didn't turn out as I planned but I'm glad the hubby and I got to do it together for our son, Kai.
I am having some technical difficulties getting photos to download to my blog.... bad timing! I'll link up as soon as I can figure out what is going on. Hopefully I'll not be too late in sharing photos of our Day of the Dead celebration and swap.
I was so sick this week, Angie, that we didn't get to really honor the day here, but thank you sooooooooo much for sharing all this forward here! xoxoxox k-
So cool, the pieces are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI might have to try my hand at sugar skulls next year!
