Together Again, Sophie Smith.

Together Again.
Sophie Smith.
Mosaic with tiles.

:::

about the piece.
Sophie talks about her mosaic, "I made this mosaic for my triplets’ grave for their first anniversaries. I began the piece on my first triplet Henry’s first birthday/anniversary on 31 July 07 and completed it just in time to lay on their grave on Jasper’s anniversary on 16 October 07.

"Many tears fell on the glass as I worked and remembered my sweet brave little boys and their great fights for life. Making this mosaic for them was incredibly healing and helped me through an immensely painful three months of birthdays and anniversaries. I know I would never have been able to make this alone, and that it was Henry, Jasper & Evan who guided me to create something beautiful for their grave. My three little boys together again."

about the contributor.
Sophie Smith describes herself, "2006 was the happiest and the saddest of my life. My husband Ash and I became parents for the first time - to triplets: Henry, Jasper and Evan. However, when our beautiful little boys arrived too soon, Henry at 21 weeks and Evan & Jasper at 24 weeks, our lives changed forever. Our Henry lived for one precious hour in my arms, a brain hemorrhage shortened our Evan’s life to ten days, and brave little Jasper fought on for 58 days before finally joining his brothers in Heaven.

"We now have a fourth son, Owen, who is a happy and healthy 19 month old and brings us a joy we never believed possible."

Sophie maintains a memorial website for her sons at Henry, Jasper and Evan Smith .

  2. Such a beautiful mosaic. I love butterflies and my wife and I are currently making a mosaic pot for Abigail's plant which is keeping us busy.

    Just reading your story break's my heart. I know what 13 weeks of hospital appointments felt like leading up to Abigail being born sleeping but your story must have been so traumatic. Love to you and your family - I am glad Owen is with you and that you are remembering Henry, Jasper and Evan is such beautiful ways.

    Peace and Healing
