Trying Again, Ceil
Trying Again.

about the photograph.
We are just beginning to "try again". No small feat of optimism and bravery 6 months after loss, 3 months after turning 43 with no other children. I was lying in bed the other day in a hopefully conception boosting shoulder stand when I noticed the way the light coming through the window seemed to be a ball of light, almost of energy, right between my legs (the center of the body is home to the "conception vessel" in Chinese medical energy pathways) and I snapped a photo. "Signs" like that help me feel like I'm on the right path. -Ceil
about the artist.
Ceil is among other things, a writer who seldom writes and now a mother who doesn't get to mother. She is riding the waves after the loss of her son Kai on his due date, in mid June.
This can be interpreted so many ways. Wow. Yeah I'd take that as a sign too. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteGood Luck - hope this is your sign!
ReplyDeleteCeil, I really love your work.
ReplyDeleteHoping with you.
I simply love this.
ReplyDeleteI love this, it's something that I ever expected to see. I am wondering how you managed to photograph while holding a shoulder stand steadily. I hope you are on the right path too and your bravery is rewarded ASAP.
ReplyDeleteOh wow. I remember doing just that and begging gravity to work. I so hope it works for you.
ReplyDeleteBTW, you won the giveaway at my blog (http://www.landofbrokenhearts.blogspot.com) for the book They Were Still Born--I announced it but maybe you didn't see, and I didn't have another way to contact you. Shoot me an e-mail at virginiawilliams (at) yahoo (dot) com with your mailing address and I'll get it out to you.
What an incredible shot, and yes I think we've all done this same pose. Just amazing.

I've postponed commenting because I can't seem to find the words for this piece. It touches me and is powerful. Expressive and vulnerable. Excellent portrayal of the..... this is where I get stuck... invasiveness of TTC again? the vulnerability? Anyway, I love it and thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeletei totally love this, and have also done that shoulder stand! thanks for sharing. xo
ReplyDeletehow cool! I hope it is a sign!
